Pafe Momoisea

Former Otago Nuggets player, Pafe Momoisea will be setting his sights on Palmerston North for the 2022 Sal’s NBL season as he touches down to join the Property Brokers Jets.

Having spent a season with the Otago Nuggets, where the 21 year old concluded his first stint in the Sal’s NBL as a consistent contributor and one of the teams most improved players, Momoisea will continue his journey of development in a Property Brokers Jets uniform.

Jets coach Natu Taufale has loads of praise for the new signing. “Pafe is a talented young player who has a number of great attributes that will help us in what we want to achieve this year. He is a quality defender and his gritty attitude and athleticism will bode well in our system.”

Momoisea, who completed a year at a US college prior to starting his NZNBL career in 2021, is looking forward to heading north to further develop under the guidance of Taufale.

“Yeah, I can’t wait to get there and start training with Coach and the team. I understand what I can bring to the team and I’m keen help in any way I can,” said Momoisea.

The 6’3” guard, who will continue his tertiary study while in Palmerston North has impressed Taufale off the court as well.

“Pafe is a great character role model. Although he’s still only 21, he’s got a bit of life experience behind him and it shows in his nature on and off the court. He is driven and professional in his attitude, which is a characteristic our Manawatu basketball youth can look up to.”

Momoisea joins forward Shane Temara as the other team’s signing in what is shaping up to be an exciting young mix of talented players.
