Tu Kaha Cooper

Tu Kaha Cooper has confirmed his place in the new look Property Brokers Jets squad for the 2022 Sal’s NBL season and the future is looking bright.

Cooper spent the 2021 season learning the ropes as a development player for the Property Brokers Manawatu Jets, having just completed high school. With another year under his belt, Coach Natu Taufale has been impressed with Cooper during the off-season and can see the potential he holds. “We have worked him out a few times over the summer and he has the tools to make a significant contribution for our team, which we are excited about. He has a great work ethic and a desire to learn which are key factors we are impressed with”, said Taufale.

The 6’3” former Junior Tall Black has been on the radar of a number of teams over the off season and Cooper is enthusiastic about the prospects that lie ahead. “I am stoked to be back in the Jets uniform and at the opportunity of playing a bigger role this year. Being given the chance to contribute is what I am excited about and I’m prepared to do just that” said Cooper.

With the season fast approaching, Cooper will fill a guard spot vacated by the offseason transfer of Jayden Bezzant (Franklin Bulls).

“Tukaha has a calm presence on the court and a knack of finding his own scoring opportunities, as well as those of his teammates. He is ready for the role we have planned for him and we have no doubts he will succeed in the role”, said Taufale.

The New Year will commence with a player trialing process for the Jets, along with other franchises throughout the country and we will expect to see more player announcements in the coming weeks as the 2022 squad takes shape.
