Kenny Goins signs with The Jets for 2025
Fresh through the arrivals gate, we're pumped to welcome Kenny Goins to the Property Brokers Jets for '25!
Born and bred in Michigan, USA, 28-year-old Goins excelled in football and basketball. Luckily for us, he chose to pursue basketball as a freshman for Michigan State Spartans following his time at Warren Mott High School.
As a senior, Goins averaged 7.9 points and a team-high 8.9 rebounds per game and was an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention selection. After going undrafted in the 2019 NBA draft, Goins joined the Denver Nuggets for the 2019 NBA Summer League.
In 2019, he signed his first professional contract with Italian team Pallacanestro Trapani in the Serie A2 Basket. In 24 games, Goins averaged 11.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.
"Kenny brings a wealth of experience and versatility to our roster. His ability to stretch the floor and make big plays under pressure is exactly what we need to compete at the highest level. We're excited to have him join the Jets family and can't wait to see him make an impact both on and off the court." Coach Webster
Goins signed with Kolossos Rodou in the Greek Basketball League (GBL) in 2020 and then moved on to his second Greek club, Lavrio, of the Basketball Champions League (BCL) in 2021. Since then, he has signed with the Hungarian team Atomerőmű SE and, most recently, Limoges CSP in France, playing in the LNP Pro A, France's top professional league.
We're excited to be the next stop in Kenny's professional career, and welcome this talented 6'8 power forward to our squad for the 2025 Sal's NBL season and see him in action in The Hangar!
Free agency for the 2025 Sal's NBL season is currently in play, and as we lock in our roster for 2025, we have some exciting announcements to come. Keep up to date with all the latest Jets news by following us on our socials @jetsbasketballnz on Instagram, Facebook, and X.
About Property Brokers Jets:
At the heart of Jets Basketball is community. As one of the eight founding teams of the National Basketball League (NBL) in 1982, the Jets have proudly represented the Manawatū region. Over the years, the team has reached two NBL finals, in 1992 and 2020. Originally known as the Palmerston North Jets, the team expanded its regional focus and rebranded to the Manawatū Jets in 2002. Despite a brief hiatus in 2015, the Jets made a successful return to the league in 2018, reigniting their commitment to the sport and the community.
Today, the Jets’ vision extends beyond the court. It's about fostering a love for basketball and providing opportunities for kids across Manawatū. Whether they're playing in schoolyards, local playgrounds, or competitions at the Arena, our mission is to open doors for every child who dreams of reaching the highest level of the sport. At the Property Brokers Jets, we’re not just building a team; we’re building a future for the next generation of basketball players.
