Zane Najdawi

The newest import for the Property Brokers Jets, Zane Najdawi has given Manawatu a taste of what’s to come with a great first performance against the Canterbury Rams.

Although the Jets went down to the Rams 82-72, the 6’7” Najdawi was a very active member of a new look Jets squad that is improving with every game, securing 17 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks.

Coach Taufale said, “We expected Zane to be productive in his first hit out with the group. Settling in with a new team can be challenging, but Zane had a good week of practice leading up to the game and has fit in nicely with the group, which he demonstrated on Friday.”

The 26 year old American forward has had experience in Europe and recently won a Premier League title in Jordan which will serve him well in the 2022 Sal’s NZ NBL, a league that is quickly becoming a must watch in Fly Palmy Arena.

“I’m excited to be here and am looking forward to getting a few more games under my belt with the team. Everyone has been really friendly and welcoming which has made the transition into the team a lot easier”, said Najdawi. “There’s a lot of talent in the league from what I can tell and every game will require a solid team effort to give us an opportunity to compete and win.”

The new look Property Broker’s Jets are winning fans with there relentless hustle and ‘never say never’ attitude and that is what people are getting excited about. Combine that with an experienced competitor in the form of Najdawi and the Jets looked poised to continue improving.
