Jets big man ruled out for at least six weeks

The Property Brokers Manawatū Jets have been dealt a blow ahead of the upcoming Sal’s NBL season, with athletic big man Troy Temara suffering a serious knee injury.

Temara sustained the injury during training and has been ruled out for at least the first half of the regular season. He will undergo rehabilitation on the injured knee and will be re-evaluated in six weeks.

The Jets organisation have expressed their disappointment for Temara, who was set to play an important role for the team this season.

“We’re really feeling for Troy right now,” said head coach Tim McTamney, “but he’s a professional and we know he’ll be doing all the right things to recover and get on court for us this season.”

The 6’9”, American-born kiwi will be staying in Palmerston North while he undergoes treatment and will remain with the team in an assistant role during this time.
